"Age" friendly strength training recommendations?

I'm just south of 60 years old and have lost over 70 lbs. Used to run 25-30 years ago and did a marathon. But I never felt the need for strength training. I'm approaching my goal weight now and am running again but still have some skinny fat on the bones. I would like to lose about 20-25 pounds more but then put back on 10-15 in muscle through a diet and strength training program at home. I don't have a lot of room for equipment but do have some dumbbells and can fashion a chin-up bar somewhere as well. Quite frankly, the P90X and Insanity programs look a little bit aggressive for an old guy beginner and I'm not sure I want to commit that sort of money if those type of programs are more oriented to the 20-30 somethings. Any recommendations? Perhaps someone from the been-there-done-that crowd? Many thanks!

www.nerdfitness.com start off with body weight exercises to build yourself up. Make sure you drink plenty of calcium as strength training helps to build/maintain bone density (not being a smarta**, being realistic)0

Try the New Rules of Lifting, it is at your own pace/weight and so far the New Rules of Lifting for Women, which I am doing, is great.0
