Hello,
I am having trouble figuring out what my caloric intake should be and am looking for some help.
I am 22 years old, female and I am 5 foot exactly.

I currently weight 139 and my goal is to weigh 127.

MFP says I should eat 1200 but if I do the TDEE minus 20% I get 1547.

I swim for 30 mins three to four times a week and I walk quickly about 30 minutes four out of seven days a week. I am currently in university so most of my day is spent pouring over books.

Please help me out!!! Thanks so much!

  • I think you really just need to experiment. Choose a number to start with and monitor your weight. Tweak the number of daily calories until you start seeing the changes you want.

Everyone is different - figuring out your daily caloric intake isn't an exact science.

Thanks so much! Also, is there anyway to adjust the caloric intake on MFP? I cannot figure out how to change it from the 1200 it game me to what I really want. For some reason the red numbers bother me.
