Not losing pounds??

    Thanks for this.

    Seems very strange that MFP do not improve their site by getting this crucial 'eat more to lose weight' right. I have heard it a lot so why does MFP not get the initial settings right? Seems very odd. I have emailed them!

    It now throws up 1930/day for a 1 pound a week loss, recommended by the system, will see how they reply before potentially upping to 2200/day.

    Yes, fruit is helping - just can't see why MFP set me at 1450!!

    It doesn't care what your personal energy needs are, it simply takes the amount you say you want to lose per week, and subtracts it from your estimated energy needs. If you say you want to lose 2 pounds a week, it subtracts 1,000 calories per day. For 1 pound per week, it subtracts 500 calories.
