Bumpers or Not

Should I buy bumpers for my home gym or should I get some normal Olympic plates? I might eventually want to get a preacher bench and maybe a curl or tricep bar. I'm assuming big bumpers wont really work on these?
So do I go for cheaper weights and get a preacher bench with a variety of bars or more expensive bumpers only?
my options;

Opinions, anyone?

I don't have bumper plates and wish I did. I plan on upgrading soon.
But why would you need a full set? Wouldn't you just need some of the plates, probably the 45 pounders, to be bumpers?0
