Hi all,
One of my downfalls with my diet is i can go all day with hardly any food and then as soon as im home from work and in front of the tv i just eat and eat and eat! Sometimes i can go right up until i go to bed which isnt great for digestion.
Ive set myself a limit of no food past 9pm and then once ive mastered it im going to bring the time back to roughly 7:30pm as i dont get home from work until 6 ish.
Any tips to avoid late night snacks?

Hey! Is it sweet or savoury you're snacking on? I'm finding having a hot chocolate in my evening helps a lot. I get a chocolate fix and it's only 40 calories a cup.
If savoury - how about popcorn? That's so filling and not bad calorie wise depending on the flavouring.

The very best way to avoid late night snacking is not to buy the snacks. If it's not there to snack on... etc... you get the point.
it really is as easy as that.0 -
Try not eating in front of the TV! If you make yourself sit at a table and eat consciously, you will eat so much less than if you're zoned out watching tv not paying attention to what you eat.0

Its a little of savoury and sweet - im not even hungry i think its more out of boredom to be honest....
Being able to buy the food would be great but im still living at home with my family so unfortunately its not an option!

If you are still within your calorie limit, then there's no problem with late night snacking.
I have that problem, so now I just make sure I have enough cals for a treat after dinner.0 -
I think hardly eating anything all day long is part of your problem. That's the reason behind eating several small meals a day rather than starving yourself during the day. That's also one of the the reasons behind the recommendation for eating breakfast - for most people it keeps you from being so hungry for lunch and overeating. I try to make sure I'm eating something that includes some protein every 4 hours or so, and that way I'm not starving and then eating everything under the sun.
I actually like to have something in the evening before I go to bed - I feel like it gives my body something to chomp on over night and keeps me from feeling like I'm starving in the morning. My evening snack last night was 2 cups of grapes and a baby bell cheese.
Also, I don't take anything with me to watch TV that hasn't been measured or weighed out. That keeps me from eating a whole box of anything before I realize how much I've eaten.0
