I have been offically a member of MyFitnessPal since December, but I only started using it in earnest on January 4th. I've been successful at the simple goal I set for myself which was to lose 10 pounds a month. I'm down about 30 pounds now, and I feel great. It's actually been easier than I had originally thought it would be, but it has still required a major lifestyle change. This past week I was able to survive a whole week away from my scale and away from being able to prepare any meals myself. My weight loss was down for the week, but I still managed to lose, so that's a good thing. I tried to overestimate my eating a little, but I still don't have a good eye for what constitutes a cup or a gram or whatever. I worked out extra each day in the hotel fitness center (a first for me) to compensate for any extra calories I might consume. So anyway, yay me!!! Yay MyFitnessPal!!!

What a great accomplishment. I know the feeling. I went to New York last year for a week only 3 months after I started losing weight and came back a pound lighter. So YAY to you. Such a great accomplishment. Looks like you've learned more than you thought. Keep it up!

I'm hoping I have the same success as you. I just got back from a week-long Caribbean cruise with lots of delicious food for lunch and dinner. I ate buffet breakfast so that was healthy fruit and oatmeal. The rest however I tried to order what looked healthy, but yummy food won over sometimes. We'll see when I step on the scale tomorrow. I figured I'd give it a day to drink lots of water and get some of the food out of my system. Hopefully I break even, my vacation was reasonably active (hiking, walking around the ship alot or the beach, etc).
