I'm running my first 5K on Saturday, and I'm starting to get nervous. Any tips for a first timer? I have the day before the race off - should I rest? Eat a lot? Not eat a lot? Get a good workout in? Any help would be appreciated! ...thanks.

rest up, and carb up, but don't eat any exotic foods or too much that could upset your stomache.
also if its your first race, its taking part and finishing thats more important than your time, because of course,
you will run again .... ;-)

You don't really need to carb load for a 5k. Just eat what you normally eat. Run in what you are used to running in. Don't try anything new on race day. Don't line up close to the starting line unless you think you're going to place in your age group. I would do a light workout the day before, but nothing that will make you sore. Keep hydrated. Pee before you start! Good luck!
