Hi guys

I have been feeling quite crapy the last few days just achey and general cold symptoms. I have been taking berocca and dosing up on paracetamol etc. What I am unsure of is whether to exercise or not. Is it best to let my body rest or would a little exercise not hurt ?

Thank you so much :)

I typically rest if I'm sick. First because your body needs rest and fluid to fight off whatever is going on and second because if it's something contagious I don't wanna be that guy and bring it into the gym with me and maybe get other people sick.

I workout at home or run outdoors but thanks :) I will rest and see how I feel tomorrow :) Plenty of water then :)

me too. not fun! i decided to rest instead of running/weight training. was really fighting NOT to get sick last week, went out for a run on two different days, got my first ever WORST TIME EVER on the second day run thanks to not winning the battle agains my cold.

I think resting would be a good idea.

Thank you for your advice guys I hate doing nothing so I think I may do some yoga indoors opposed to going for a run in the cold.
  • Rest, drink, sleep, keep warm. One of my favourite gym instructors always starts by shouting out "any injuries I need to know about?" he consults with whoever says yes. Then "anyone ill/feeling under the weather?" if anyone says yes he bellows "GET OUT OF MY CLASS, GO HOME TO BED - MAKE YOUR BODY LOVE YOU!!!"

The general rule for running is that if your symptoms are neck and above, it's okay to run. Below the neck: rest. Sneezing, runny nose, sore throat--try to get out there if you can, but go gently, and you might actually feel better after. But if it's in your lungs and/or you have stomach/other digestive issues, rest.

i did try running last week but when i'm sick with a head cold i end up light headed so needless to say it was a horrible run. i had to keep stopping
