Eat to Live- trustworthy?

I know there's been some discussion on the Eat to Live book by Dr Fuhrman, but I'm wary of trusting it- just habit I guess. Does anyone have an educated opinion on this book/plan? I know a friend of mine has had significant success but I'm worried about any longer-term effects, etc as well as the fact that I'm only looking to lose about 20 more pounds and I don't want to emaciate myself on that type of diet. Any opinions?

I would not look to Eat to Live as a diet but more as a lifestyle because it can be seen as very restrictive. If you are already mostly vegan or vegetarian then it would be a good way to transition to a plant based diet and rid your diet of processed foods.0
