medication?

Im taking a medication called amitriptyline for my migraines, which i have heard makes people gain weight so far i don't think i have seen any issues but i haven't been on it very long, has anyone heard of it?

    That particular drug is known to cause weight gain, as are all the drugs in that particular class. Have you noticed any other side effects? You should call your doc and discuss it with him/her and they can tell you all the details and discuss what is right for you! What your doc will probably tell you is to wait it out and see if you start to gain weight, and if so then the med can be changed. Wish you the best!

    amitriptyline is an old antidepressant with unlabled uses like migraines. one of the listed side effects is increased appetite which can lead to weight gain :)
