I need help with my abs. I lost 30 lbs yet still dont have good abs. I dont know if its a matter of losing more fat there or doing a lot of sit ups. any tips?

check out Jillian Michael's 6week-six pack work outs. Just tried one today, it's AMAZING! I've read very very good reviews here on MFP so search the treads

edit: it's not a matter of target training (just central abs), you need to work the whole area for the best shape and tone, as well as arms etc to increase overall muscle (which means you naturally burn more calories). Good luck!

Unless you lose more fat in your abs no amount of exercise is going to make a difference in appearance, and many people may never achieve that goal based on factors that are hard to control, one being genetics. What you need to do is lift heavy and consume in a slight deficit for at least 12 weeks and that should give you an indication if the abs your looking for are achievable.

Personally ive found it's 95% about losing the fat and 5% about sit-ups.

I'm at a deficit of TDEE-200 and although I do daily crunches, pressups, flutter kicks, bicycle crunches, reverse crunches, side oblique crunches and planks it isn't really needed. I've never lift heavy either. I'm at ~13-14% body fat atm, I'm looking at 10% BF as a goal to really reveal them. The majority of the remain excess fat is in my lower belly. :|
For a woman I think* your BF will need to be around ~18%

I agree with this, food has a much larger control over your abs you could do a 100 sit ups a day but food will hide them.. i can tense my abs they feel great but have a tummy over them, I work out 5 days a week with a personal trainer but i know it is my food that lets me down. so keep doing your ab work outs, but look at your foods..

I think this is good for sure. Growing muscle is so good for helping burn more day to day, makes you feel stronger and when the weight really does come off makes you look great! I remember when I was hitting the gym regularly and it really showed in my arms/back/shoulders/legs (not my abs haha needed to cut down on fat)
