just wanted to share something with you that i find has helped me a lot.
I eat off of paper plates  sounds silly but........
the plates in my house are pretty big and when i put my measured serving sizes on it, my plate always looks half empty and i feel i spend most of the meal thinking about how i barely have any food on my plate.... and i seem to feel hungry after.
So i have these 8" paper plates that i now eat every meal off of my food is always overflowing and i dont spend my time thinking how little food i have, i spend more time concentrating on how yummy it is.
sounds crazy but by the end of the meal i feel more satisfied....

Not silly at all to me, because I do the same:drinker:0

I would do the something similar. We have two sets of plates, a larger size and a smaller size. I try to use the smaller size more because the plate looks more full and I end up eating less. It's always good to trick your eyes like that! haha..0

I put almost all my stuff in bowls. It piles up so much that it looks like I have TONS of food in there. Although I am a bit odd and don't mind if my food gets all mixed together so it works great for me. I don't remember the last time I used plates at home!!0

We do the same unless the food requires a knife or we have certain company!!0

I don't use paper plates but I follow the same technique, my family always teases me for using the small plates or 'baby plates' because that is all I eat off of.0

Not only do I choose smaller plates, but I also start by dishing up my veggies (and give myself a pretty good amount)! THEN go for everything else!0
