activity level lower on days off Do i eat same calories

Hey everybody.. I'm new here and have searched for this question with no luck. When I set up my activity level I chose active. That is because when I am at work I'm always going going going. So I know that it automatically takes out the calories for you to lose that week. Well on my days off, I'm not so active. I try to relax and do I little workout. But for the most part I'm doing mom stuff on my weekends, like laundry, shopping, etc. So my question is this... If I'm not being as active as if I were at work, shouldnt I eat more calories on those days so that my body doesn't go into starvation mode? I mean I'm not walking for 10 hours like on my other days.

Your calories are spread out over the week, so you don't have to change anything on your days off.

It's so unlikely for your body to go into starvation mode, you would really need to have anorexia or something. It really is nothing that you should worry about.

Everything on here is an estimate. I'd recommend sticking with what MFP tells you, and then reevaluate after a month. If you find you are losing less quickly than expected, then you can manually reduce your target by 100 calories and try again for another month.

In any event, if you are set to "active" and have moderate weight loss goals, you are unlikely to go into starvation mode. To make sure, go to the apps section of the website and find the BMR calculator. BMR is the number of calories your body uses each day to just stay alive (your heart and brain need calories, too, after all). With the exception of the occasional really off day, you never want to be eating fewer calories than your BMR.
