I am really happy with the pounds I've lost so far but I've been scared to actually look at the measuring tape. I took my measurements today and am astounded by the changes. I knew I'd gone down a pant size or two. I've lost a total of 17.25 inches overall. I'm measuring neck, breast, chest, waist, hips, upper thigh, calf and bicep. 3" alone from my waist, 2.75" from my hips and 2.25" from my thigh. Crazy!!!

I leave for vacation tomorrow and have my final weigh-in for the Biggest Loser contest at work on the day I get back. I'm confident that I can maintain my weight while I'm gone from everything I've learned at MFP. No matter what the contest results are... I've gone way beyond my wildest hopes! Right now I'm down 26 lbs. (13.1% loss) and down 17.25". It doesn't get any better than that.

Here's to the next 20 or so pounds and the nice spring weather! :drinker:

Congrats! That is awesome! I need to measure myself. I just started 5 days ago and still haven't done so and really should so I know what I've lost aside from pounds.
Being on vacation can make it tough to keep on track. My inlaws are visiting this weekend and I am not too sure how I will stay on track!
  • That is AWESOME!! You make me excited to measure myself in the future! Thank you for the encouragement!

    Congratulations!!

That is awesome. I am glad to know I'm not the only one... I don't really look at the scale anymore... I am for the inches. I've lost about 16 inches so far off my body... trust me it feels awesome....

Way to go, and keep up the hard work.

You go, girl! How much time did it take to lose that much?
  • I started MFP on 1/13/10 and totally changed my eating habits. I started adding exercise towards the end of February (nothing major - walking and minor weights). When I get back from vacation, I'm really going to concentrate on starting to run and adding a lot more toning weight lifting. There is a 5k at the end of May that I would LOVE to participate in.

I wanted to try and lose as much fat as possible at first and then work on the muscle. I thought I would be defeating the purpose to build muscle under the fluff!!
