running

I stared running about a year ago, and while I have not gained any weight my jeans are now tight around my hips and butt. I am wondering if running has made my butt bigger instead of smaller. I have lost a few pounds since running, but also I am 45 and I have heard that when women get close to memopause it can cause your middle to get bigger. Anyone have any insights?

No insight on the menopause. Running will increase your muscle tone and increase your muscle size which is great. Unfortunately, you need to lose fat to lose inches and that is only through eating less than you burn every day. MFP is a wonderful tool to get that balance and lose the inches. Keep up with the running and focus on eating smart and within a reasonable deficit and you will be shocked how quickly and consistently your body will lose fat. It takes patience and focus though.0
