I need to take self defense training (I have classes lined up soon), in the meantime I always carry my knife. I have no problem stabbing someone who tries to touch/kidnap me when I am out alone.

I dont walk with anything, if Im going to get attacked Ill beat the crap out of them right back. Go down kicking, that's my motto =P Course the only time I was ever actually concerned about that was my first handful of walks in an area I hadn't walked before and all I could see were convenient places to conceal my body. I never carry anything worth stealing, so if I get jumped its cause they want my body - which means they have bigger issues than crime
  • I carry my brown belt... martial arts brown belt that is. But in law enforcement we recommend pepper spray, stun guns and a dog.

I live in Chicago. I walk alone both in the morning & in the dark. Act like you're crazy & they will leave you alone, lol. It's worked for me so far.

I agree. I ride the bus and am out alone a lot. Sometimes I'll just sing loud and poorly. It's a pretty good defense I think.
