I do Tim Ferriss Slow Carb diet, which is briefly summed up here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow-Carb_Diet

It's not as restrictive as Atkins and Paleo and has one cheat day where you can eat what you want.

I'm down about 20 lbs on it to date. I find that not eating grains also helps me maintain focus and energy during the day. I don't get the insulin rush and crash that I did when I ate breads and cereals.
  • Thanks having a look now. i think i would strangle with the breakfast side of it as i so use to having my cereals for breakie

If you're not prepared to give up cereal for breakfast, then maybe low-carb isn't for you.

Just be careful - I tried low carb but ended up binging - so never lost anything over 6 month period.

So then started calorie counting and eating low fat and have shifted 6 pounds in the last 3 weeks.

I think low carb is another way of restricting calories but you have to watch fat content?

Im not sure, it might work for you - good luck!
