Need motivation? I have nwes for you all!

I'm new to MFP, but not new to weight loss. Since I joined here I've noticed plenty of posts where people complain about not being able to lose weight on the meal plan or exercise plan, and they are about to give up. Also, I've noticed that heavier people with plenty of kg (lbs, whatever) to lose are doing better in terms that they loose at least 1 lb per week, which is almost impossible if you are half of their starting weight.

So here's the motivation: DON'T COMPLAIN ANYMORE!

You THINK you've done everything, but trust me, you can always do more.

For those who are starving and complain about the low calorie intake: well, eat a bit more! You can't keep like that forever! Even if you get to your goal weight, what's the cost of it? You'll put pounds back in few weeks time.

Crave sweets - eat them! not every day, but eat them. Don't deprive yourself, or you'll just feel miserable. Don't even try to feel guilty later! Because, that was a treat, not like you'll eat a box of cookies, you'll eat 1-2. No one's gonna die of it!

For those who are not getting results with their exercise regime - well, change it! There must be a solution worth your time! If you skip a routine, take a break, or just don't feel like exercising, then don't. Give it a break for a few days, it's not the end of the world!

I was always heavy, even as a child. As a teenager I was a size 12. I was always picked on, laughed at. Being a smart kid didn't help.

I put on extra weight at university, and at age 23 I was over 86kilos (more than 170 lbs). Size - 16! BIG! One day, late summer, after I realised everything too small in my wardrobe, and after I overate once more (mmmmm pancakes) I decided to stop. This was not me!

So I began strickt diet (les than 1200 calories per day, healthy foods) for around 2.5 months. I lost 16 kilos, but felt tired all the time. I got to a size 10, but the clothes didn't look good on me. I introduced more food to my diet (SMART MOVE) and exercise. First exercise I ever did was: 10 repetitions of this: stand tall, arms up, bend forwards, and touch the toes. Needles to say every muscle hurt for days!
But, during 12 months time, I moved to more demanding exercises, and 2 years ago I started doing JM videos. Not every day, but with progress!

Last year I was battling an infection, so I was more on antibiotics and food than exercising, so I gained few centimeters and few kilos. That's why I've decided to try MFP and to start eating better and exercising even better! Hey, I turned 30 2 months ago, great time for a new start!

So, you see, the journey never ever ends!

I can't count how many times I've could have skipped that slice of cake (or few slices), pizza, bread etc. I could have exercised more efficient too. But i didn't. That's no reason to give up.

For those who want results today - it doesn't work that way, sorry

So: don't starve, please. Don't deprive yourself of small treats. Don't exercise when you feel sick, do it the next day. Don't feel ad about it.

If you believe that it would be better to sit on the couch, eat some stupid silly stuff and watch TV is better than doing some exercising or taking a walk alone or with friends is better, ok. But have you tried something different lately? :flowerforyou:

If not, please do.

I did, am still doing, and I have no regrets!

I can have it and will have it if I choose. but I don't want it - success

Or, I want it but will only have a little bit - success (at least compared to eating the whole cake...)

    OP: great post! Inspiring.
