Sodium intake

Is there a way to counteract sodium intake? I got a $5 footlong subway club today from subway (no cheese, no sauce.. just veggies) and I ate half for lunch and am going to have the other half before I go to class tonight. However, the sodium in the meat is crazy high. Is there anything I can do to counteract this? Drink more water perhaps?

~~Drink More Water~~~!!!0

Drink lots of water, that will flush your system. Still may take a day or two but it will flush out of your system.0

Water's the easiest way to get it out of your system (other than watching the intake -- Subway is notorious for that though).0

Thank you all.0

Once sodium is in your body there is not way to cancel it out. You just have to wait until you pee it out. And as for drinking more water, it will not counteract the sodium, but it will help keep your fluids in balance and prevent dehydration from the excess sodium.0

Thank you! I already drink a lot of water but I was kind of shocked at how much sodium is in the meat!0 -
You guessed it - water. If you weigh daily, you will notice an increase tomorrow. It seems like I read that spinach (some specific nutrient in it) can help with bloating, although I've never actually tested that myself.0

Water helps but it's not a cure. There really is no cure except to wait it out....0

Increase potassium and magnesium intake......tomatos, coconut water, bananas..would help to add both regularly to your dialy intake to always help counteract sodium intake.0

I don't want to feel bloated! Booooo.0

Also remember that if the water is softened it contains its own sodium. Make sure the water is not processed through a water softener or else you're going to do more damage.0

Thanks. I mostly drink the water at work and through the tap at home. No water softener at home.0
