Alright- taken from another board.

What word is kicking around your brain right now, that you're really enjoying? AND, please use it in a sentence, to illustrate why it amuses you.

ie:

Obnoxious. That unidentifiable constant noise from down the hall is completely obnoxious.

Your turn.

    Cacophony

Between the TV, the dogs and the alarms going off the cacophony of sounds was making me crazy.

    Bee's knees

The phrase "the bee's knees",meaning "the height of excellence", became popular in the U.S. in the 1920s, along with "the cat's whiskers" (possibly from the use of these in radio crystal sets), "the cat's pajamas" (pajamas were still new enough to be daring), and similar phrases which made less sense and didn't endure: "the eel's ankle", "the elephant's instep", "the snake's hip".

Usually tossed out with an exclamatory, "Well ain't that just the bee's knees?"" when I think something is awesome. No one ever knows this phrase.

I also say "cat's meow" interchangeably with "bee's knees".

    "Just"

My dad came up with this from somewhere, possibly Chet Atkins the guitar player, but I am not sure if that is the correct source.

"Sometimes it rains on the just, sometimes it rains on the unjust, and sometimes....it just RAINS!!"

Our crummy weather this week made me think of that one.

I had chinese, too, last night. Hubby had a craving. There's so much left over in the fridge, it's ridiculous.
