I had a great experience on Sunday. There is a big hill in a nearby neighborhood here, Bernal Hill. It has a beautiful walk around the top. Beautiful views, no cars on about 1/2 of it. It is about a mile--or a bit more around. Most of it is flat. The end is a pretty steady, steep, uphill for about 3 blocks. I did the walk several months ago. Walked the flat part and turned around and walked back to the car. I did it a couple of weeks later, and walked all the way around, but I took at least two breaks--sitting on a fence or a rock. And at the end in the uphill part, I was miserable, and hoping that my car would be around every turn. I did the walk for the first time in months on Sunday. Keep in mind, I'd already done almost 7,000 steps. I walked 2X around the hill. finishing my 12,000 steps for the day. I was huffing a bit on the uphill portion, but no breaks, no rests. And I could have walked around again! Such a remarkable difference. I was bursting with pride, accomplishment and such a tangible marked accomplishment.

    That is great!

My current fitness goal is also a walking one, but it has been at least a month since I have done the specific walk.
