I would say contact your doctor and see what he/she says

Breastfeeding burns about 500-600 calories/day so I would say you should definitely be eating more than 1200 calories.
  • Yes, I believe your body requires extra calories to breast feed. I would definitely consult your doctor.

    talk to your doctor first.
i don't think 1200 is too little, as long as you're getting the right vitamins/nutrients. i also heard breast feeding helps women lose the pregnancy weight faster :o so maybe adding more calories, if your doctor suggests that, wouldn't hurt your weight loss too much anyway?

Absolutely. If you are nursing a baby that is exclusively breastfed, you need an extra 500ish calories per day. Make sure you are eating enough of healthy food for your sake and your baby's.
  • Hey! You can add in breastfeeding calories as a meal. Go in like you are adding something for your food diary, search breastfeeding, add, and it gives you a 500 calorie deficit

Im nursing too and 1200 does not keep my supply up. I have to fluctuate between 1400-1800 cal, otherwise my baby goes hungry. Just make healthy choices when eating and you will still lose weight.
