The Price Never Decreases

So I'm reading a book on teamwork for a workshop that I'm leading this Sunday and thought this point especially hits home for many of us. From "The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork":

The Price Never Decreases
"Most people who quit don't give up at the bottom of the mountain; they stop halfway up it. Nobody sets out with the purpose of losing. The problem is often a mistaken belief that a time with come when success (or in our case weight loss or strength training) will suddenly get cheaper (or easier). But life rarely works that way...Each person must decide in his / her own heart whether the goal is worth the price that must be paid. But every person ought to know what to expect to pay in order to succeed."

Just thought I'd drop some encouragement here, because I thought about you guys when I was reading this section.

Cheers :drinker:

I am pretty sure it's called the law of diminishing returns. It's involved in everything. ;)

    Umm...no.

Let's say I'm working out 3 days / week losing about a pound / week.
I get excited and want to lose more, so I continue to work out 6 / week, and cut 1000 cal out of my diet per day.
I get annoyed when I don't lose any weight because I'm starving my body.

That would be an example of the law of diminishing returns.
