how many cals should i eat?

how many calories should i eat to lose excess flab and tone up. i lost 30 lbs eating 12-1300 cals and im so upset that Im just a big ball of flab even if im a low body weight. i do bootcamp 4x a week (combination of running and free weights) but other than that im really sedentary. im 26, 5'6" and 110 lbs. i dont care about the scale i just want my body fat to go down and muscle tone to go up.

    What's your maintenance?

Whatever it is, eat 10-20% ABOVE it and lift heavy. Starving yourself and losing lots of weight won't do crap for your composition; you won't have any muscle to show beneath the "flab". You need to build up a foundation of muscle.
    Eat more. Lift more.
  • im not sure what i maintain at. mfp put me at 1200 cals. im just so confused...losing fat requires eating less and toning up requires eating more. i really dont think i need to be eating more with all the flab i still have
  • and at bootcamp i use dumbbells ranging from 5-15 pounds. im not sure i can go much heavier than that while maintaining good form

You do realise that the "flab" is there because there's, like, no muscle behind it? If you eat less, you'll continue losing more weight, but said "flab" won't go away.

Use one of the many calorie calculators to calculate your maintenance. Enter your height, weight, age, etc. Then add 10-20% to the number it gives you.
