WHAT SHOULD I DO!?! Its my friends bday tonight and we are going to a mexican restaurant...

Should I eat there. I'd get refried beans, shredded chicken and corn tortillas if i did.

BUT I also have low carb tortillas and fat free refried beans here....what should I do?!? Should I go?????!!!!!!

I have worked out today and have a good amount of calories left..but I am trying to lose 5 pounds in 2 weeks...

  • Go! But try and see if there are any healthy choices that you can make - I know if I overate for everyone's birthday or other even I'd always be overeating, but if you make healthier choices there's no reason you should deprive yourself the enjoyment of a get together. So see if they have a more healthy option (I'm thinking taco salad with only a little dressing? And avoid the coronas!), you'll appreciate it when you reach your goal!:)

Go and enjoy the fat-free beans, shredded chicken, and the low-carb tortillas! If you skip the cerveza, you can feel righteous but not left out. I would have to stay away from the chips if it were me, though. :)

I would go but Mexican food is my favorite. I agree with looking for a healthier selection but how often do you eat like this? Is one evening out really going to be that bad?

I have resorted to ordering a chicken taco salad w/ no cheese dip and no sour cream on it. Don't eat the shell either. Just pour some salsa over it if it's dry. I still can't say no to the chips yet, but I do try to limit myself to 10/11.

According to a lot that I've read, and if you can handle the heat (depending on the restaurant), eating Camarones a la Diabla without the sour cream, cheese, beans and tortillas is fairly low calorie and healthy. Especially if you have a great Mexican restaurant that serves HUGE shrimp

Either way, make as smart a decision as you can, and remember this is a lifestyle change. You can't go your whole life without Mexican, can you?

My favorite Mexican restaurant has incredible fish tacos that are serves with pico de gallo and a salad with guacamole on top of it. I get that and skip the tortillas. It's grilled tilapia and so good! I know the guacamole is fatty, but I consider it to be healthy fat, so I dont feel bad when I eat it.

Sometimes when the hubby and I go, he gets an order of fajitas and I get a guacamole salad and add the chicken and peppers to it. It has about 2tbs of guacamole on it and I mix it up so the guac is like my dressing. I even get some shredded cheese to boost the protein if I have the calories.

Skip the chips if possible and save the calories for something more nutritional for you.

I love carne asada. I skip the rice and tortillas and ask for whole beans instead of refried. And I ask for avacado instead of guacamole.

    WOW! Great job!

It's so hard to stop at only 2 chips.

That's not bad at all....good for you. How about the maragarita's or Corona's? None?

Tell them hold the cheese and sour cream, avoid the tortilla chips if possible then you should do just fine.
