I have been experimenting with finding alternative smoothie recipes that are a good source of protein, fat and spinach in the mornings, instead of my normal oats or omelet. I have always just gone the chocolate PB and frozen berries route for protein shakes but I decided to invest in some extracts and this morning's protein smoothie was fabulous. The toughest part is getting a good, stick-to-your ribs texture but this one turned out great. I like mine thick and this one I ate with a spoon.

Into my Ninja, in this order...

7 ice cubes
30 grams vanilla ice cream flavoured whey isolate
70 grams baby spinach
140 grams frozen mango pieces
8 oz unsweetened almond milk
1/4-1/2 tsp pure almond extract, to taste
1 packet sweetener (or any other sweetener you like)

Blend until smooth. Once it's full blended, mix in 10 grams of shredded coconut with a spatula and serve it up in a *very* large vessel

Rough stats with my ingredients - 319 calories, 10g fat, 28g protein, 7g fiber
Totally delicious!

Once I blended everything together I took out the blade, tared my scale and added 10g of coconut and then just folded it in with my spatula, so you can't really see it. It's grated up in there but you can definitely taste it.
