New Rules of WEight Lifting for Women

Just finished week 1 (started on Saturday) and everything hurts! Should I lift on Friday so I can get on track for my usual routine M-F? Or just wait until next Monday to get started?
Also, I feel like I'm really working now where as before (cardio all the time) I wasn't feeling challenged or sore afterwards.

We have a nrol4w group...you should come join us!
So, you lifted Saturday, Monday and Wednesday? Up to you whether you lift Friday, but I definitely wd not wait until Monday.
Sounds like you might need another rest day, but you can wait until tomorrow to decide, right?0 -
If you are still feeling sore tomorrow, it's better to take an extra rest day when you might not need it than to over do it and possibly injure yourself.0

keep moving. DOMS are normal when you start a new exercise program. You can decrease the number of days that you have DOMS by continuing to move and by stretching (drinking water, eat spinach, eat sweet potatoes, get lots of protein).
If you are experiencing muscle soreness go lift on Friday it'll feel good, if you are experienced pain from a sprain or a strain don't lift. In the mean time, go for a good walk or jog.0 -
I think it's just soreness so I'll push through. My ankle has been periodically feeling strange and it worries me. I tore all of the tendons playing soccer when I was younger and was on crutches, physically therapy for a year in college and just started running again recently because I still don't have full range of motion. It doesn't necessarily hurt but it feels 'weak' so maybe this is helping...0

Lifting through a lot of soreness CAN cause injury -- in part because the soreness can cause you to lift with incorrect form to "work around" the sore muscles.0
