Protein Powder

I love to drink green smoothies so I thought it would be a good idea to purchase some whey protein powder and start adding it in. Well I noticed that when I drink protein powder it gives me horrible acne. I don't really have a problem with acne so I though it was strange. I tried different kinds and I always break out after drinking it. Is there some type of ingredient in it that causes this. Does anyone else have the same problem with protein powder? Of course I quit drinking it because its not that important to suffer through the side effects it gives me.

Does it just happen when you take in protein powder? Have you tried eating a very high protein diet for a few days to see if it's something to do with how your body handles unused protein or something like that.
If it's just the protein powder that's causing it then unfortunately there isn't much else you can do other than stay away from it.
You could experiment some more with different brands or different types of protein, maybe ones sourced from something other than whey. You may find something that you don't react badly too.0 -
Yeh it just seems to happen when I drink the powder. I eat protein at every meal so I am thinking it is just an ingredient in the powder that must not agree with me. Oh well. I guess I will just eat a boiled egg with my smoothie.0
