1700 based on TDEE - 20% - anyone similar?

About a fortnight ago, I made the what felt totally weird move to RAISE my cals from 1300ish to 1700 based on my BMR and TDEE calculations.
I am not eating exercise cals back which also feels odd.
Most days I get to around 1500 and freak out but I am trying to get it up to 1600 at least.
I exercise a minimum of 5 hours a week and have a fairly active job (teaching)
VITAL STATS
5ft 3, 153lbs last weigh day.
I started at 162 in Jan, lost 9lbs straight away and now Im stuck. But I have lost inches and after going up a few pounds, I am back down to 153.
Unfortunately my GW is around 126 so I have a long (and slow) way to go.
Just looking for some motivation buddies in the same boat as I feel a bit like Im all alone - I have plenty of work friends trying to lose weight, but theyre all starving themselves and I never want to be in that boat again!

Hi, we have somewhat similar numbers. I'm 5'2", SW was 172, CW 158, and GW is about 125 (will reassess when I get to that point). I'm doing 1650cals, not eating below BMR, and only eating some exercise calories if I have to get to my BMR#. I am losing slowly but I find it is better this way. I'm not starving, and I feel that I can focus better on my workouts and other stuff instead of how hungry I am. So, add me if you want.0

Losing 9 pounds in a month is great! And it was probably that excited push that you get when you first start losing weight...a lot of people lose a big number quickly then sort of plateau. But you can read around and see what others are doing to break that. But here are some suggestions/thoughts:
1. Maybe you are overestimating what you eat (example: you think you just had 1 cup of cereal when in reality it was closer to 2 and you had more than 3/4 of a cup of milk, that adds up over time).
2. Measure and weigh, measure and weigh...your food that is.
3. Don't weigh yourself everyday...women's weight tends to fluctuate A LOT! (Mine does by as much as 8 pounds over a 24 hour period - I'm 5'9" and hovering at 250 currently. GW is like 180-ish. I've lost 10% of my SW since I started this journey and I got stuck and found MFP, so my ticker says 0 but thats because I entered my CW as my SW when I joined. I've actually got to make myslef get on the scale in the AM and update that!)
4. Look into the In Place Of A Road Map plan. (If you aren't already since so many on MFP are and you did discuss TDEE!) (Search the forum for IPOARM or helloitsdan)
5. Don't focus so much on the scale #'s, but how you look and feel.
6. Remember that you didn't gain it overnight, or in a month, so you probably won't lose it like that either.
7. Good luck and don't give up on yourself!

When I did my tdee- 20% it put me about 1900 cals! I was a bit shocked haha bc I was probably eating around... 1300ish? So this a new adjustment for me. However I can defiantly get used to this I think.. Yesterday I worked out an had Sooo much more energy than normal. My sw is about 160lbs and I'm 5'3 with moderate activity level. You can add me if you want0

thanks guys!
have accepted those who added!
I try to overestimate everything I eat - and underestimate on exercise - I have a HRM to keep me vaguely on track but I still log less cals than I do.
Anyway, I know overall 9lbs in the time Ive been on it is good, Im just looking forward to the next drop on the scales
Good luck everyone!!0
