Lifting heavy.

Anyone trying to lose weight and build muscle at the same time? I am struggling with losing any weight. I have been the same weight for over 6 weeks. I need help! I am eating good and staying within my calories. Advice please. Add me and take a look at my journal.

I am in the same camp as you are. I discovered that if I want to lose weight I also have to add quite a lot of cardio to my exercise. I am doing Chaleane Extreme at the moment which is great strength training and combining it with stationary bike or cross trainer. Yesterday I received JNL Fusion programme which actually combines strength and cardio so want to give it a try. My metabolism is rather slow and I have to cut on carbs a lot if I want to see my weight going down.
  • It's so frustrating. I feel like giving up at times. But then I think holy crap I have come this far, I don't want to give up because It makes me feel good. I just hate not seeing and movement on the scale. Even my measurements aren't really going anywhere. I have totally cut out all grains and now someone just told me that I eat too much protein and it is turning to fat. I don't know why this is so hard.

I can't see your diary, so I don't know what kinds of foods you are eating or how many calories you are eating. What I can say is you have come a long way ... don't give up ... you're are doing great!

Admire you for lifting heavy, don't ignore the cardio. If you aren't much for running, walking, riding, or swimming you can still get cadio from lifting. Strategy is to reduce your rest between sets, don't let your heart rate come down ... that is cardio. Good luck!
  • Thanks. I do treadmill 4 or five times a week for half hour. Either HIIT or tabatas. I hate long steady state cardio so I get it done fast.
