Rice

I am curious if it's actually good for you. Today I had brown rice but my mum has bought me basmati white rice for tomorow for work i was wandering if it's really bad for you? Also is it ok to eat brown rice each day for lunch with veg as that is what i've started doing as i'm new to knowing what i can have for low fat lunch in work! Thanks for the help guys!

    No it is not bad for you and I would choose white rices over brown rice any day of the week due to taste preferences

    No it is not bad for you and I would choose white rices over brown rice any day of the week due to taste preferences

    Same as Acg67 except I like both kinds for different uses. Eg in a hearty turkey and rice soup, I like brown rice. In a Paella, I like Jasmine white. It's all good.

    Thats good then :) I am trying to become slim and get rid of my belly fat aswell....i just woke up and decided to join the gym and now i go and am really dedicated to it so don't want to ruin it due to my bad skills with food :). Thanks for the reply!

    As long as rice isn't all you eat then it's fine. You should have a good ratio of carbs / protein / fat, as long as you eating close to a reasonable of each in a day it doesn't really matter how you get them into your body.

    I start my day with a mix of white/red/black rice. I love love LOVE rice, it's what gave me my belly... yes, it's the RICE BELLY.

    so just be careful, as once you find some good, super yummy rice (Japanese rice is honestly the best ever) it is very addictive ;D
