Please Help with my plateau :(

So i was 240 and got down to 170 then back up to 213 now im stuck at 198 (im 5'6)... I have been eating 1200 cals. for months now and its obviously not working.... i am scared to up my calories i have tried "high days" like eating 2000+ for 1 or two days in a row in the past 4 weeks but it doesnt seem to work it only makes me gain 2-3 lbs... then when i got back on 1200 i go back to 198 and stay put.. sometimes 197...

Im scared im going to fall off and lose sight of my goals.

I try to be as active as possible but I was in a car accident when i was 18 and I unfortunately have many injuries that effect my physical abilities.

    I'm also at 213 and 1,200 calories is WAY too low for me. I say up them, (Not a lot, just a little, I'm eating about 1,700) you'll see a big difference!
    Also you could experiment with switching up your workout routine. Do something a little different, that might boost your loss a little :)

    Can you afford the help of a trainer to figure out what kind of exercises will fit your physical limitations? Also, try zigzagging your caloric intake a little bit. Add 200-300 calories one or two times a week. Are you keeping an eye on your macros? Are your sodium levels okay? Also, I found that I was under logging my food. Now, I have bought a food scale and hope to be more accurate. Good luck!

    How often do you exercise?

    When you calories count your 1200 are you also monitoring your carb count, protein and fat? Someone can eat 1200 calories of the worst food doesn't mean you will lose weight. You need to make sure you are having enough balanced meals.

    Have you ever figured out your TDEE? I use these sites to determine how many calories I should be eating. Also, if your still struggling Id suggest to visit a nutritionist I find them to be really helpful in analyzing whats wrong in what you are eating daily. You would be surprised on what you think is good and isn't or what your not getting enough of!

    avoiding the 1200 too low debate :explode: !?!

    It may slow down your metabolism but not to the point of not losing weight. My guess is that your not honestly keeping track of all your calories. After four weeks at an average 1200cal/day you will have lost weight, slower metabolism or not.

    I suggest checking the calories of what you eat with other reference sources, and thinking if there are any small snacks you might eat but not enter.

    Have you tried changing your routine? Eating at different times of the day or having a go at intermittent fasting, it's working for me. I was under the impression that plateaus were a result of completely losing the visceral fat from your body - so it's a good thing in a way!

    I am exactly in the same situation and thinking of starting IF 16:8. Just started increasing my cals.
