Nervous waiting for PhD apps to come back

So, I'm kind of freaking out and nervous waiting for my PhD applications to come back. They should come back at ANY time now. All three said mid-February. I'm having a serious freak out right now... I used to be one to stress eat, but nope. Not going to do that. Instead I'm going to stress-cardio as I like to call it, when I get off work in 2 hours.

SO to keep me from stress eating myself into a coma - ENTERTAIN ME!

How is everyone's day going? Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?!

p.s. I finished my work for the week already so just kind of hanging out bugging people for more work anyway, before someone pulls the "then go work!" card.

There's no speakers on the office computer! It's an old old old old computer. As in, we just UPGRADED it to Windows XP. Haha.

I did just go take a walk up and down the building stairs though. 10 flights. Woo!

Do you know what professor you might would be working for or what department you'd be rotating in? Call one of the profs.

Don't talk about admissions, just keep your name in the forefront.

    If you're really worried...

Well, I actually know I'm ACCEPTED to two of the programs. It's really just whether or not they're paid for..... Which, if it's not paid for, I'm not going.

Oh yeah, good luck there. My department at A&M was swimming in cash when I applied (not gloating, commenting for how lucky I was).

Can't say much is going on here! Waiting for 5:00 to hit so I can get out of here and go to the gym myself! (A little crabby over something that happened at work today, so I'm going to take it out on machines rather than stress eat...so I can feel you there!)

GOOD LUCK! I see you were already accepted to two of them, congrats on that!

What are you getting your PhD in?

One of my schools, UT Dallas, sent an email to my professors commenting on how they had an "over-abundance of teaching assistantships" available for fall. So I hope that means I get one...

I like to pretend as I run on the elliptical and move my arms that they're punching someone/something. Makes me feel good. Or when you're running that you're stomping on someones face. I might be crazy, but it helps, haha.

I am *hopefully* going to be getting my PhD in Statistics (or math specializing in statistics, depending on the program). I have a BS and a MS in applied math already.

I'm terrible at entertaining people. But I will say you freakin' rock for getting your PHD! I'm 31 and just now started on my Associates - so no matter how nervous you are, you are still KICKIN *kitten* AND TAKING NAMES!

So have you figured out the standard deviation and mean of getting accepted AND paid for being in the program?

Hehe. Sorry I had to go there. Good luck! That's impressive =)

I'm waiting to hear from the graduate program (Doctorate Nurse Practitioner) I applied to as well. It takes so much effort to complete the application process and it is so hard to wait to hear something. I'm hoping I get called for an interview any time now, but I'm hoping the interviews aren't scheduled the week in March when I'm going on vacation.

I hope it goes well for you! The waiting game is the worst game... come on, just tell me already! You can even email me and let me know, then send all that paperwork later!

I was lucky in that we didn't have to do an interview - probably because it's not like we really need to have social skills.... Can you sit in an office and work on problems? OK, you can, great. Haha.
