So much conflicting info on artificial sweetners

I have a huge downfall. I drink at least 2 Diet Dews during the day, along with water, and I drink Crystal Light in the evenings. I don't drink milk. Occasionally, I'll drink vanilla almond milk. So what's the deal with all the talk about artificial sweetners? Exactly how are they bad for you, and what am I supposed to do to avoid them? It seems like the ONLY thing I'm supposed to drink is water. I can do that except meal time.... and when I need a daytime pick-me-up. (Unless they've started caffinating water, I'm screwed.)

So what does everyone think? Yea or nay?
