So much conflicting info on artificial sweetners

I have a huge downfall. I drink at least 2 Diet Dews during the day, along with water, and I drink Crystal Light in the evenings. I don't drink milk. Occasionally, I'll drink vanilla almond milk. So what's the deal with all the talk about artificial sweetners? Exactly how are they bad for you, and what am I supposed to do to avoid them? It seems like the ONLY thing I'm supposed to drink is water. I can do that except meal time.... and when I need a daytime pick-me-up. (Unless they've started caffinating water, I'm screwed.)
So what does everyone think? Yea or nay?

Moderate consumption of artificial sweeteners will not hurt you, IMO.0

I only use it in my green tea, but I started using that stuff made from monk fruit, and I like it alot. I haven't done the research on it, though. Maybe I should.0

Chris: Excellent article. I've googled all the artificial sweetners, and I've never found any credible evidence aside from allergic reactions or certain people with sensitivities. If anyone can link to any case studies that show anything different, I'd be interested in reading them.
