liquid intake...

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere - and likely as many opinions are posts... just not sure what to search and lazy - so posting again...

I KNOW I am not drinking enough water. Pure, unadulterated water.
I am making a conscientious effort to increase and log my water intake.
I do drink plenty of coffee however. (though much less now than in previous times...)

So, if I am drinking about 40 oz of coffee a day - and I should be drinking at least 64 oz of water a day...
how much actual/additonal water should I be drinking?
Does any of the coffee count?
Does the caffeine ('damage') offset the water intake, so I need to overcompensate??
Thoughts?

Drink enough throughout the day where your pee is light yellow or clear.

Coffee will dehydrate you but the amount of actual water hydrates you more. Sure not as much as the same amount of pure water. Your body gets hydration from everything... foods and drinks.
