You should not be trying to loose weight while pregnant. You need to talk to your doctor about the appropriate caloric intake and not an internet forum. For the safety of your baby, please talk to your doctor and not a bunch of strangers on the internet.

Why the hell are you worried about losing weight while pregnant? You should be eating 300 EXTRA calories, not worrying about what your daily allowance should be. Jesus.

You should talk to your OB/GYN and listen to him/her only.

    Ask your OBGYN.
    They will tell you.
I'm sorry these people are so rude.
Obviously, if you normally eat a redidulous amount of calories
you don't want to pack on another 300.
Not to mention you don't add 300 more until the 3rd trimester.
If you can even keep anything down try to keep it below 2000 calories until you
    can meet with your doctor.
    Btw Congrats!

obviously it varies for everyone, but when i got pregnant i set myself to maintain even though i weighed 230. i had such horrible morning sickness that i lost 10 pounds in a month, but thats neither here nor there. ive slowly upped my intake and now at 7.5 months ive gained 20 lbs.
the best bet is to talk to your obgyn and see what they suggest. i have a friend that got pregnant, and her dr actually did want her to lose weight during the pregnancy but i think thats really kinda rare

I am sorry some of the comments are really rude. I am 32 weeks pregnant with a little boy and I keep logging everything to help keep myself accountable so I don't gain too much weight -- not because I'm trying to lose. This is a lifestyle change. I would recommend looking up your tdee and find how many calories you burn a day and try and sick to that number. (Mine is 2300 but my 5"2 inch friends is 1600 so it really depends on your height, age, and activity level.) I would also pay extra attention to fat and protein intake it can be really hard to eat enough of that but it's the good fats protiens and vitamins your baby needs for healthy development. Feel free to add me if you like. I think it's great your wanting to change your eating habits now. It's hard but logging everything really is eye opening.

When I was pregnant last year my doctor explained that I didn't need to eat more until the last trimester, when the baby is just gaining weight before birth. I maintained till the last trimester then I switched to gain .5 lb a week after that.
