Too much food

Going out to dinner for Valentines Day. Planned my day accordingly. Might have overestimated on dinner just a bit but I would rather do that. Right now I am 48 calories over my target calories (oops forgot the appetizer that comes with my meal.)

Anyway there is a luncheon at work today. It will be hard for me to avoid (don't want to insult the boss.) Do I eat lunch and go way over my calories or stick with my original plan and not worry about any backlash I might receive.

Extra exercise is not an option today.

Sorry for the awful "story telling" but thanks for any responses.

    This.

Deal with it, get back on track tomorrow.

Maybe you could calculate the extra calories from the luncheon and then the very next time you work out, have that surplus number in your head. When you feel like quitting your workout, remember you've got a calorie debt to pay : )

It's just one day. I would eat as healthfully as possible at the work luncheon (fill up on meat and veggies) and don't tick off your boss. Enjoy your Valentine's Day dinner. Get back on track tomorrow.

    Thanks everyone!!!

Next question...Do I still log everything I eat?

I am a little afraid to see the excess calories.

    Yes. Don't lie to yourself.

    Log it. Honesty is better.

Done. Not going to worry about today and everything will be logged. Love the advice and support here.

I log everything regardless of what it is.
If I go badly over by a day, I say "oh well tomorrow is a new day".

Done worry about today, and yes ... log.
  • I'm like you -- don't like to log bad food days. But then I thought, I'd want to see how that really affected my weight, you know? So I try to log it all.
