A howdoyalldo

Hello there friends!

Okay. So, I'm new here! Fresh off the couch! Let's see. I'm overweight. Crazy, I've never been this overweight or out of shape in my life. It all seems to have happened suddenly, but I can hear myself saying just last year that I wish I was as the weight I was the year prior. It's been a decade of that. If I could earn interest on bonds the way I've gained weight, I'd been rich!

In any case, I'm here to do the obvious, track my food intake (why the heck is that so complicated!), get a handle on my exercise, set up some goals and slow down this runaway train! I have some big plans, but I want to start slowly and hopefully, this website (which came highly recommended) will help me keep my head on straight and give me a chance to change these terrible habits I've built up, replacing them with good habits!

I've got some unique (or maybe not) challenges. For one, I recently got over whooping cough and it's wreaked havoc on my system, I can finally breathe again, but exertions take a lot out of me. Thankfully, I know that as time goes on, it will take less and less out of me. I work in the food industry, recipe development and fun stuff like that. Main ingredient is fat! I've got to taste every step, so that's going to be fun to track!

Anyhow, that's a little about me! Nice to meet ya'll!

Welcome! Tracking your food isn't as hard as it seems and it gets easier as you build up your "recent" and "frequent" list of foods and build up your recipes and meals. I call it the "measured" lifestyle. Get a nice set of food scales and make sure you always have measuring cups and spoons clean! MFP has had wonderful success for me and I hope it has for you as well!
