Hello everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Melissa and I'm here to lose about 15 lbs and of course learn a healthier way of eating. I got on this kick a few days ago after watching the new Jamie Oliver Food Revolution show. It was really eye opening for me. My daughters are those kids that each chicken nuggets, pizza and all that processed crap WAY too often. I want to set a good example for them and teach them while they are still young.

    Hi Melissa! Welcome to the party! I'm sure you'll find some really cool ways to lose your 15 LBS quickly on this. I downloaded the mobile App for my Iphone and it really helps to keep track on the go. Also I have found that it helps to stick to the plan given about 6 days a week and one day go over like a regular normal day. Also (though not recommended) you can fluxuate betwen eating your extra calories for excercise, vs not eating the extras and that seemed to work for me. I've lost about 2 Lbs per week since I started and Plan to continue for another 4 weeks. Starting to get harder to lose, but absolutely easy to stick to the plan.

    Welcome aboard

    Yeah I do allow my kids to eat chicken nuggets, but maybe once a month. I usually only order out on fridays, pizza or chinese, sometimes I cook special meals, that I dont do everyday, like lasagna or stuff like that.

    So I do allow them junk, but not too often, working on cutting down their candy intake, but thats a grandma thing, so trying to make her stop bringing them in the house but I hardly allow them juice mostly water

    Hi! I'm new here too. And I watched that show also. It's really made me think about what we eat and it's so sad the way kids (and parents) are eating now.

    We want to lose about the same amount (I want to lose about 20 lbs). I joined on Sunday and really like MFP. It's really easy to enter everything you eat. And the members here are great! I'll add you as a friend!
