How to motivate?

I recently joined our company's Wellness Committee and something we've been discussing is how to motivate people to start doing healthier things. We offer "boost points" that you can redeem for actual items (visa gift cards, ipod, pyrex bowls, etc) for participating/winning challenges, going to the dentist once a year, and now even using MFP... but how can we get the people who don't normally participate in these things to start? Any ideas would be welcome... and I know that THEY need to want to do it... but how do we make it look more attractive to them? We have some people who can barely walk...

And have you participated in challenges that you've really enjoyed? What were they? Does your company offer anything like this? I'm just looking for some suggestions to try to get people involved. Thanks in advance.

    Money.

A deduction from their health care premium. Cash. Big TVs.

These are the things that motivate my father-in-law to participate in challenges at his work. However, as soon as the competition is over, he just puts the weight back on. That's a whole other issue though.

The boost points are essentially money... they can't give cash outright anymore... so every 4 or 5 boost points equals $1... which is motivation enough for me...
