One Week In

I have been using MFP for a week now and dieting since the first of the year. I have lost 17 pounds total so far and 3 in the week I have been a part of MFP. I wouldn't mind a few new friends that could be encouraging but not overbearing, especially if we have something in common. I can handle people reading my diary (it's open to the public) and holding me accountable but I don't need someone screaming at me if I slip up - I got enough of that in boot camp nearly 30 years ago. I have a warped sense of humor and can be sarcastic and cynical at times.
I am a 46 year old empty nester that works in corporate accounting. I have two adult children that are both away at college. My wife and I are both dieting and on MFP. I am able to do moderate exercises but due to some health conditions (flexible flat foot, arthritis, bunions and gout) I am not able to do a lot of really strenous activity, although I do officiate high school baseball, softball and football as much as I can as a hobby. Currently I am working on the treadmill at home since the weather here in Michigan is cold but once it warms up I will be outside aimlessly wandering around town. I will also be joining my wife with her balance ball yoga since it looks like it will help me improve my flexibility and stretching. She has more severe physical limitations than I do as a result of a serious motorcycle accident several years ago but she does a great job keeping up.

Welcome to MFP! My husband and I joined on 1/3/13 and both have had success. It really does help that we have each other to support along this journey and since our goals are to be healthy for ourselves, each other and our kids, it makes sense that we would support each other. Congrats on your loss so far. I will send you a friend request and support you along the way! Keep up the good work.0
