Doesn't MFP automatically change my calories?

I goofed. I assumed MFP would automatically change my calories based on my weight on it's own. I have been eating the same calories since I started on January 7th. I was playing around with the setting today and thought about changing my 1 pound a week to 1 1/2 pounds. I decided to put it back to the 1 pound for now and all of a sudden I have a new calorie limit but it hadn't done that on it's own before I played around with it. Does it automatically updated how many calories you should be eating a day? (hope this makes sense).

In my experience it updates (after asking you) after each 10 pounds that you lose, so if you haven't lost that much yet, you would still be at your original number, but once you lose 10 pounds it will ask you if you want to update.

The same for me as the above poster, it changes every 10 lbs usually, but I have recently manually changed it based on my TDEE.

i had the same experience. after losing 5 pounds, i messed around with things in the 'goals' setting, and when it was all over, i had lost 50 calories from my daily amount! i was a little shocked, but i can see why it goes down.
but you are right, i just assumed it would adjust itself as i lost weight.

perhaps we should be grateful that we discovered this now, instead of losing a few more pounds and then having the weight loss stall because we were eating too many calories because it doesn't automatically adjust. that would be really frustrating!

    EDIT:

oh, i see from the above posters that it will give an option to change after you lose 10 pounds...that's good to know, thanks!
