First day - Hello!

Hi, I'm Rachel and I just joined MFP today. I have been overweight for the past 6 years or so. I started having foot pain in the Navy and stopped running and working out. After I got out, I have always had desk jobs and now 2 kids and extreme knee pain (which I'm getting disability for) I'm almost 40lbs heavier. The weird thing is I can still fit into the same size clothes I wore before I started gaining all this weight and I don't have any health problems. If I wasn't so short, my weight probably wouldn't bother me, but the BMI authorities want to call me obese. Walking on the treadmill and doing the eliptical machine are hard on my knee so my doctor recommended I take up swimming. I joined a gym in December and have been swimming 2-3 times a week and taking water aerobics once a week. So far I have lost a whopping 4 pounds!!! I don't eat unhealthy, but I'm not on a diet either - I joined this site with the hopes of logging down my food and see if my food is really the issue.

I would love for some friends on here to help keep me motivated and I can do the same.
