Honeymoon nutrition advice!

I am going on a resort honeymoon the end of June. It is causing me anxiety because I know there probably won't be a ton of healthy options. I plan on enjoying myself but I don't want to cause a week of damage to my progress. It's not even about gaining weight(well, only in part). It is also not wanting to feel like crap after eating junk. Any suggestions on how I can try to minimize the sodium and calories? And the alcohol...grrr I forgot about that too! :/

Choose the healthiest options available. Fill up on veggies, fruit and lean protein first, then move on to small portions of the not-so-healthy stuff if you want. As for alcohol, avoid mixed drinks that have juice or sweet and sour or other mixers. Stick to wine, light beer or hard liquor 9mixed with diet soda?).

If you are going to a resort I imagine they have a gym or fitness center. Make up and spend 45mins-hour working out. Not that you will be able to eat ANYTHING but at least you are still burning some calories. I am going to a resort next weekend and plan on packing sym clothes for every day I am there

I always find I eat quite well when going on hot holiday destinations as I don't like to feel full and bloated on tons of carb-overloaded fried foods. I live for their fresh seafood and fruits. The places I've gone often have fruit, yogurt and granola stations or an omlet station that you can suit to your needs. When you hit the buffet in the evenings start with salad plate full of veggies then go to your table to eat it. Then take a smaller plate for your main course. Try to stick to fruit for desserts or a bit of sorbet. But do allow yourself to enjoy the other foods- in moderation.

There will be healthy options, its just having the will power to stick to those options. And the booze! All those tasty frozen concoctions are my weakness.

    Have fun!

Whenever faced with a buffet, it's always wisest to try to eat the most expensive items available. Seafood, good cuts of meat, fresh vegetables... leave the cheap stuff like pasta and potatoes for the suckers.

This plus cheesecake! I just got back from a resort and ate a ton of it, but after eating the shrimp and steak, there was only so much dessert I COULD eat.

Also, if you plan on tracking (which I did) go ahead and set your goals to not sedentary (at least lightly active) and to maintenance, that way it is less stressful.

and, err...you're on your honeymoon, won't you be burning lots of calories by ah, walks on the beach?

OR...(I'm going to make a lot of people mad)

just enjoy yourself. A honeymoon is (usually) a once in a lifetime thing, do you really want to be worrying about calorie counts, exercise adn all that when you should be having an amazing time? No one goes, "wow, my honeymoon was so great, I passed up all the good stuff on the buffet, worked out everyday, never touched a drop of alcohol..." no, they gush about how great the food was, the amazing sights they were treated to, the great drinks on the beach and generally make the rest of us incredibly jealous. Bottom line - have fun!

    THIS!

Hubby swears that all the photos I have of him from the honeymoon show him eating! haha

Seriously, we still talk about how great the "gourmet" pancakes were from a cafe we stumbled across one morning when anyone asked about the honeymoon. Hubby ordered a full stack and was soundly defeated. I only ordered one and it was delicious and I couldn't even finish it even though I tried. That thing was an inch thick and the size of a 12 inch skillet! Score: pancakes 2, Newly weds 0. We beat the fudge and other goodies though, so it was worth the challenge. :P
