Calling all Californians

(And Las Vegas folks).

Hubby and I are going over to the States on holiday in August and we are soooo excited, we're going to start booking hotels soon but was hoping for some "local knowledge" before we did with regards to hotels?

We're flying to Las Vegas 3n there, then 1n Mammoth Lakes, 3n San Fran, 2n Carmel/Monterey, 4n LA area (I've spotted a nice hotel called The Ambrose nr Santa Monica but not booked yet) then 3n San Diego.


Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
