I'm 5'8", 27, with 2 kids. l weighed 235 during both pregnancies and was still 215 when my youngest was over a year old in Nov 2009 when I decided to take control of my health and lose the weight. It took me about 6 months to lose 55lbs and I had maintained around 160 ever since. I kind of fell off the exercise and healthy eating wagon about 9 months ago though and was just feeling run down and looking flabby. I started an *amazing* workout program called Turbofire on 11/12/12 and have lost an additional 20 lbs and finally lost the belly pooch and am in the best shape of my life.
Turbofire 12 week results
Before pics - It was really hard to find any photos that had my belly in it. I avoided pictures period.
You look like a completely different person! Congrats!!!0 -
My SW 198lb/89.9kg and during at 62kg/136lb (about 4kg/9lb ago):
And a week ago somewhere between 129lb and 130lb or about 58.5kg/59kg:
And the side during at 136lb/62kg.... (I'm 128lb now and it's even better!):
I'm 5'4" and a mummy and I've been fat since I was 7 or 8 - so there's hope for everyone!!
I am currently at 196 and want to be around 130 so you are a great inspiration to me! How tall are you?0 -
To the last two posters - AMAZING work!!
Can you tell us all what you did - especially the lady whos starting weight was 9 lbs more than her current weight!
Thanks! I'm about 70lbs lighter than my starting weight now, and my pooch became more pronounced as I lost weight until I started to incorporate strength training last November. The difference between then and now is phenominal - but I've worked hard, all of December and Jan I trained like a maniac (working out for 2-3hrs most days). Now I'm below my goal weight I've cut it back.
Strength training ontop of a calorie deficit has definitely been key for me losing my pooch.
Thank you! I have been lifting heavy and doing cardio atleast 6 days a week.. your before pic looks like how I look now so you have shown it's totally doable!0 -

I think she means the "after" pic is 9lbs heavier than she currently is, not that she started only 9lbs heavier... If i'm understanding correctly.
For me - eating right, running, lifting, and PATIENCE! That's all it is. Work hard and you'll see the results. If you're not seeing results, change things up. Eat MORE than you think you probably should. I started at 1200 calories and did everything "right" for a month, and no change in either weight or measurements. I upped my calories to 1600+ and dropped the weight. My current profile pic shows me at the exact same weight, about a year apart. On the left, size 12, on the right, size 6. Both at 155lbs. But my body changed with running and lifting. Stick with it, ladies. And you WILL NOT bulk up if you lift. Promise!
Yes, that's what I meant
GREAT advice from both of you, thanks so much for sharing! Lifting is addictive isn't it?0 -

This give me so much hope!!!!! Starting off we were about the same....Hoping that eventually my stomach can look half as good lol0 -
Awesome! I have had 2 c-sections and it gives me hope!0

OH my god. That is such a wonderful transformation. Keep it up.0

Not gone (I still have SOO far to go!!), but shrinking -- I feel hopeful! This has been over 3 months.
I was mortified at what my lower abdomen looked like after having my daughter. The first 2 months of good weight loss didn't seem to touch my tummy, but then the third month showed a noticeable difference to me.

I'm 5'5.5". I ate 1500+ a day, ran/did Zumba 3 days a week, and lifted heavy 3 days a week.
Before, ~130
After, 120

How long did this take you?
There's about 9 months between those pics. I don't log weekends or vacations, so I lose weight pretty slowly. I didn't add the lifting in until December; I definitely would have seen results sooner if I had started with that earlier on. 2 months of lifting gave me a 4% decrease in body fat.0 -
Omg...You look so GREAT!! What have you been doing and how tall are you?Not gone (I still have SOO far to go!!), but shrinking -- I feel hopeful! This has been over 3 months.

Oh, you're so sweet! Thank you! I'm 5'0", so my goal weight is 110-120 lbs. we'll see what looks best on my frame. When I was younger I looked best at about 110 lbs, but I was also 17 years old... I'm sure my body has changed a bit since then .
What I've been doing exercise-wise is Zumba 3 times a week and a weight lifting class twice a week. I eat 1300 calories a day as a base, and I eat any exercise calories that I'm hungry for (which could be anywhere from none to all). Nothing too special! I don't restrict any foods (but find myself eating less bread because it's not filling enough for he calories).
I LOVE group fitness classes and my heart rate monitor. I make a game out of it - I try to keep really high intensity in Zumba to keep my heart rate elevated. It's amazing the difference in calorie burns from one instructor to another, too. My Friday instructor routinely gets me a 100 calorie higher burn in an hour than my other two classes.
Also, it's the dead of winter and I've got an 8 month old baby, so I'm not super active outside of he gym. If I can be successful so far, anyone can do it!!
Can't wait to post a before-and-goal rather than a before-and-during.
Thanks for the ego boost ladies!:flowerforyou:0 -
All of you ladies look amazing, and are very inspiring to this mama who thought she'd never look good in a bikini! There's hope!
Sparlingo, you have changed so much just from those 20 lbs! OMG look at you! Way smaller tummy, smaller thighs, smaller arms, slimmer face. Heck yes you can tell a difference, are you kidding me???0 -
What workouts did u do to get rid of your mummy tummy? How many cals you eat?how long did it take?i,'m 5'4 170 and need to lose a go 40ibs. Thanks. Gabby. You look amazing0
-
Sparlingo that is one of the best 20 lb Before and After Pics I've ever seen! You look fantastic, Keep up the awesome work. You are sure right about different Zumba instructors giving different workouts. I usually do Zumba on the Wii but did a few classes and even though my HRM said I burned the same about of calories in the same hr my body was way more exhausted when I did the classes and the level of exhaustion was different from each instructor in the classes.0
