Do you tip...

Just remember "TIPS" stands for "To Insure Proper Service" ..... It really should be up to you and your experience there.
Hope you have a good time!0 -
Yes. If they have to touch you and they aren't a doc or nurse they get a tip.
that's what I was just about to add to my post. If they must put their hands on you to perform their job they should get a tip. I was always surprised by how few people tip the washer in a salon, they should at least get a couple of bucks.0 -
I generally tip between 10-30% and it's all based on the level of service received.
If it was really good, like beyond what I expected and more then I do 30% (I did this when I got my tattoo's done by a fantastic artist for example)
But if it was really bad service and I could have done better myself then I give them 10% and sometimes less depending on how angry I am and how expensive the service was in the first place.
Oh and example of horrible service I had. There were about 6 or 7 of us in a group and we stopped at a sportsbar/restaurant and sat down and waited over 10 minutes for a server to even aknowledge us but they didn't so we walked up to the bar and go our drinks and asked for menu's. Then when ready to order we still hadn't seen a waitress so we walked up to the bar again and made our order. When it came time for our bill it was the first time we saw her and she didn't even come back to pick up the payment, we had to walk up to the bar and pay. We probably could have left without paying or even giving a tip but we nicely left 10% even though it was absolutely horrible service that we ended up having to serve ourselves. To note there were two waitresses and only 3 or 4 other patrons in the place at the time, there was no reason why we should have had service like that.0 -
Just put the tip in and see how it feels...
I've always been told it feels amazing.
It is glorious!0 -
Really up to you at the end of the day, If you don't want to tip whos to say you have too0

At a spa/resort tipping would be expected. I started seeing a massage therapist and it felt so much more therapeutic that I forgot to tip! I have been with her for almost 2 years now and do not tip but give her a Christmas "present".0

at a resort spa? My wife and I are taking a trip to a resort and have a day at the SPA booked for 50 minute massages. I am already paying a ridiculous amount but that is the price of doing buisness...am I expected to tip? If so how much?
i would tip. the only reason i wouldnt' is if it clearly states somewhere that gratuity is included &/or tips are not allowed. that's just me though.
sorry i should have mentioned I NEVER undertip no matter how bad the service might have been I just tip the standard amount and bring my grievances to the management. to pave the way for future services and also not look like a cheap uptight bad guy in the ensuing squabble. This rarely happens though. even when i did have a bad reaction to a facial once they treated it seriously and with respect.
I only ever tip the right amount or higher. these people make their living this way. to me it's like not paying for something and then complaining about it. i get the other thinking though and that's fine for other people, I however always budget for the tip and never punish poor service via my tipping. i just think it makes bad vibes and less likely to treat me right next time. i tend to frequent favorite places though and rarely go places i don't intend to visit again.0 -
I worked as a busboy in HS. I was the one that got the coffee, checked back with the customer, etc. Wiatress got a tip. I didn't? How come?
I used to work as a Licensed Massage Therapist in a Chiropractic Office. When a person goes to a resort and get a massage, they tip right? How come I didn't get a tip working on a client for a back injury?
Some disparity in who gets a tip and who doesn't.
There's a tip jar everywhere now it seems.0 -
I feel exactly the sameYes I do, but I am getting a little tired of every counter I come across having a tip jar on it.
Thinking of putting one on my desk at work.
i always thought those were "take penny, need a penny situations?"0 -

See, that situation would have come under the umbrella of "health care worker doing their job". I'm a great tipper, but I would never tip someone at the doctor's office.0 -

^^ I agree. The only time I got a tip as a cashier was at the casino, where the winners tip everyone, and the cashiers shared those tips. (They basically amounted to the amount of taxes withheld on my check.)0
