Americanophile in England

Looking for support from friends on here!

Visiting the US of A in early August with my husband and we can't wait! Want to get down to 112lbs by then, although closer to 100lbs would be fabulous.

Have a great day everyone, please add me! X

Hi! I had to chuckle when I read "Americanphile in England" as I am an Anglophile in America... never thought about it being the other way around before. Where are you at in England? I have family near London, in Surrey. Beautiful area. Enjoy your visit to America later this year... what state(s) are you planning to visit?

Hey there, I live in Mnchester in northern England!
We're flying to Las Vegas, then driving to San Francisco via Ammoth Lakes, then Carmel/Monterey, down to LA then San Diego, I honestly can't wait, probably won't want to come back!

Come to DC! Granted, it's on the opposite coast and not the most pleasant place to be in August, but maybe as a future trip? LA, San Francisco, and San Diego are all wonderful cities though.

How tall are you? I've gotten down to 108 pounds at one point but my body doesn't seem to want to go any further. Around 110 seems to be my sweet spot for weight, but if you're shorter than I am (5'2") you might be able to go lower. Good luck!

I went when I was about 6! Can't remember much apart from eating moon ice cream at the museum there! Random hey!

Hahaha... I had to chuckle as well... because I too am an Anglophile. But to the OP, Welcome to America (when you get here) and I hope you have a great time... even I haven't been to where you are going.

Vegas is amazing. If you get a chance, go to Mystery Advetures. It is an interactive murder mystery (but not like a dinner theater) that works very hard to be realistic, creepy and engaging. It's the one thing (other than seeing a Cirque de Soleil show) that I always do when I go to Vegas.

Haha, that was one of my first memories of DC too. It's a very different place when you come back later in life. :)

It's been a good few years since I was in America, been about 7 times so I'm really missing it and longing to get back there.
Will hopefully be booking some hotels over the weekend, 31st July can't come quick enough!

Oh, no. You're going to some of the most beautful places in America. You won't want to go home. I don't want to go home when I'm in those places, and I live on the west coast of the U.S. Have fun. You will.

I'm from the SF Bay area, about an hour from San Francisco. You MUST have clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl while you are there, and get some Ghirradelli chocolate.Go to the Wax museum and Ripley's Believe it or Not museum if you can, and go to the Pier.

My friend emigrated to San Jose last year and he loves it! So tempted to do the same :)
Definitely having clam chowder in the sourdough bowl, had it years ago.
