My shrinking body is freaking me out

I hesitated putting this on the message board, because I am very happy with my dedication to healthier living.... but this morning I had a little bit of a freak out moment and wanted to see if anyone else can relate.
While walking past the bathroom mirror this morning, I was freaked out by my side view. I am so used to seeing a tummy and lovehandles for so many years, that my new view of muscles and bones and a drastically smaller waist really caught me off guard in my morning shuffle. I felt like a stranger in my own reflection.
Like I said, I am SO happy with my success, but every now and then the "new me" catches me off guard and really freaks me out. I guess I need to get used to this body. Hopefully I will keep it longer than the old one!
I hope you all have a great day. Thanks for reading. I felt compelled to share - maybe someone has a similar experience.

I have the opposite -- I am always surprised by the fat lady in the mirror.
I hear that eventually your mindset catches up with your body.0 -
I absolutely felt this way in the past when I have lost weight. Especially the tummy part. Having a flat stomach makes me feel like I am missing a piece of myself. Although I was very glad it was gone it was an odd feeling to not have something there. And I wouldnt recognize myself in pictures with lots of people in it because my brain couldnt accept that I wasn't the largest in the group anymore. But you'll get used to it. I had spent so many years in a larger body that it felt bizzare to be in a small one like I was in someone else's body. I never stayed at goal weight long enough to "get used to it". But I have had friends that have and they say that it becomes second nature after awhile.0
