How do you accept your body and be kind to yourself?

I have struggled my entire life with fully accepting my body and loving it for the unique vessel it is. I take care of it with good food and exercise (some days better than others, of course) but I am still so hard on myself for not looking like some stupid air-brushed celebrity. I see cellulite and feel terrible about myself. I see varicose veins and think I am hideous. Do you all do this to yourselves too? And if so, how best to stop this cycle?? I am so good at giving advice to friends and telling them they are beautiful and to love themselves and accept themselves and be kind to themselves, but it's so hard to take that advice myself.

It's tough for me to answer this one, as I view my body as a perpetual work in progress. 'If we aren't getting better, why do we bother breathing?' and all of that.

That being said, I have had ****ty skin ever since I was a kid. Not acne or anything, but very easily scarred, and horrible about accumulating stretch marks and the like. It is what it is though, and there isn't a damned thing I can do about it, so I just quit giving a ****. It really is that simple.

Read the article that I linked in the following thread. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/893115-the-best-article-on-motivation-i-have-ever-read

It covers a lot on the comparison stuff.
